Ornate Slag Glass Table Lamp

This lamp was brought to Bob after having been seen by two other shops. Those shops knew how to charge for the repair, but did not know how to actually fix it. The glass of the shade was so heavy that the frame could not support it, and it would start to bend and break when placed on the base.

Bob first removed all of the glass from the top of the shade. Then he had to repair all the broken parts of the frame, and reinforce all of the support arms and joints. He accomplished all of this using special techniques developed over the years.

After all repairs were made, the work area was cleaned and the patina was matched to the original frame.

The original glass was then put back in the frame, and the lamp was rewired to include the body light. As you can see, this gorgeous table lamp is fit to be passed down for many generations. This was one of Bob’s favorite pieces to work on because it was challenging and very rewarding. The original glass was then put back in the frame, and the lamp was rewired to include the body light.
