Art Nouveau Newel Post

A client came with a need for an art nouveau newel post light.  He picked out a statue in the rough that I happen to have. He brought the top of his newel post to me, and I properly made the base of the statue to mount to the newel post.  

We decided that it needed a little more dimension in the back, so stems with flowers and leaves were hand made to fill the void. The violin was also hand made. We decided to make the finial match the three arms of the both sides of the statue to give it a complete look, artistically.  

A couple other flowers were placed in the front to tie it all together. Everything in the statue had to be sand 

blasted, which led to the addition of a fitting patina. Then I made mounting hardware in the base to mount the statue to the newel post. I ordered all French shades that were appropriate for this light. The client was pleased to receive such a beautiful piece of art.
