Courthouse Chandelier

La Porte Co. Courthouse Chandelier

This 1890 Victorian chandelier came out of the LaPorte County courthouse and is made of copper and brass. The chandelier was in possession of the new LaPorte County Historical Society Museum.

As the piece was taken apart for rewiring, it was discovered that it had been taken apart and reassembled incorrectly. The two bad electric sockets were replaced with period sockets and two more electrical sockets were installed to replace the gas burner.

After rewiring was complete the piece was reassembled to its original design. This beautiful and historical piece is hanging in the museum for many generations to enjoy.
