Brass Blacksmith Statue

The original hammer was missing from this statue, so a new hammer was fabricated out of brass. The patina was chemically applied to match the statue.

The blacksmith tongs in the worked piece were also fabricated by hand from brass. They are made in two pieces and pinned just like a actual pair of tongs would be.

The piece the blacksmith is working on features hammer marks that match the size of the hammer in his hand to add realistic detail.  The patina was again chemically applied to match the statue. The tongs and the worked piece were fused together and both were glued into the blacksmith’s left hand.
